Zr Auto’s Race the Base Speed Challenge is guaranteed to thrill competitors and spectators alike.
Race the Base Speed Challenge is an incredible demonstration of ultimate vehicle performance with a direct reference to military aircraft. With the full co-operation of 4-Wing Cold Lake, an active Canadian Forces air base, this unique event is an experience that is not to be missed! Compete in or witness some of the world’s fastest vehicles competing in a head to head format.
Race the Base Speed Challenge reaches out to Canadians for the purpose of raising awareness of the Canadian Forces role in our nation. The secondary goal of this event is to support Charities such as the 4 Wing Morale and Welfare Fund and to raise funds for select charities including the Canadian Forces’ Soldier On Program, the Cold Lake Food Bank and Hearts for Healthcare Cold Lake.

- Side by Side “Standing Mile”
- Individual “Ultimate Top Speed” Attempt
- Dual Road Course “Time Attack” Competition
Up to 100+ competitors in 5 classes have opportunities to participate in each event. Competitors will accumulate event point scores on a relative basis for their class, determined at the end of scheduled competition. Using a weighted formula of 30% for the standing mile, 30% for the ultimate top speed challenge, and 40% for the road course challenge determines the over-all class champions.
